Session Objectives 

– To explore the key mental health issues that may affect people.

– To understand what can trigger mental health issues and things that can help.

– To explore how stigma impacts on individuals.

– To understand how office culture can feed into positive/negative mental health.

– To learn ways to help prevent poor mental health in the workplace.

– To learn ways to breed a positive mental health culture in a workplace.

Cost: $250 per participant

Time: 9am-3pm

Mental Health First Aid

Mental health first aid is a crucial skill that can help you support someone who may be experiencing a mental health crisis. By the signs and symptoms of common mental health conditions, you can initial support and connect them with professional help. With mental health awareness on the rise, it’s important to equip yourself with the knowledge and skills to be a mental health first aider.

The Mental Health Firs Aid Wales training process includes Self-Study of Module 1 to 3 followed by Webinar 1 of 3 hours one week later. The first three modules have to be completed before continuing to Module 4 to 5. Again Webinar 2 of 3 hours is scheduled within one week after the completion of the modules 4 to 5.

WEEK 1

Module 1: Introduction to Mental Health:

  • 1.1 Mental Health in Context
  • 1.2 Stigma, Risk Factors and Early Intervention
  • 1.3 The MHFA Model

Module 2: Depression

  • 2.1 Introduction to Depression
  • 2.2 Crisis First Aid for Suicidal Thoughts and Feelings
  • 2.3 Crisis First Aid for Non-suicidal Self-injury
  • 2.4 The MHFA Action Plan for Depression

Module 3: Anxiety

  • 3.1 Introduction to Anxiety
  • 3.2 Crisis First for Panic Attacks
  • 3.3 Crisis First Aid for Traumatic Experiences
  • 3.4 The MHFA Action Plan for Anxiety

–> Webinar 1 (with facilitator/3 hours)

Important Note: First three modules have to be completed before continuing. The second webinar is scheduled within one week of the first.
